ABOUT MCIVER

From the time she was a little girl, Megan had an undeniable love for horses. She grew up riding in Portola Valley, CA where she started with three day eventing but also enjoyed some dressage showing.

Megan went to college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she had the opportunity to work with former Olympian Gina Miles and 4* rider Bec Braitling. While working toward a degree in accounting, Megan assumed the role of Gina’s assistant trainer and really got serious about the sport. Throughout college, Megan taught lessons, competed her own horses, and did as much riding for Gina as she could.

After finishing school, she headed down to Southern California to work with Brian Sabo- former USEA president and chef de equipe for the Mexican Olympic team. During her time down south, Megan competed several horses through the Advanced level in eventing, received her USDF Bronze Medal in dressage, and coached young riders up through the 3* level.

Megan is now based in Portola Valley, California where she runs her eventing program, McIver Equestrian. Megan continues to work toward her own competitive goals of being a 5* rider and representing team USA all while training horses and riders of all levels, from beginner novice to advanced.
